Alexander “Alex” Pall and Andrew “Drew” Taggart, aka The Chainsmokers will become the first band in the world to perform at the edge of the stratosphere. While we don’t know if aliens are invited or might make a casjh appearance, this feat, will be made possible by the space tourism company ‘World View’.
The duo is expected to take off in a pressurised capsule that will be tethered to a stratospheric balloon and float 20 miles above the surface of the Earth. The private space exploration firm World View joins the likes of Virgin Galactic, Space X, and Blue Origin, finding room to make appropriate noise in an already crowded space tourism market. Once they start operations, the balloon capsule plans to seat eight passengers and reach altitudes upto 100,000 feet (30,480 meters), with your time in the stratosphere estimated to be between six to twelve hours. Each seat on the vessel will cost approximately $50,000.
