At the time of writing this piece, a quick google search of the word ‘manifestation’ pulled up a little over half a billion results. Safe to say, there are enough people looking to manifest their lucid dreams into reality. Proponents of the law of attraction believe that you create your reality by persistent action and relentless belief. Which essentially means—it’s not enough to just sit around telling the universe what to do without affirmative action. The way to getting what you want is owning your power and enriching your lives with what you want to attract. Come to think of it, what are New Year resolutions but a way to will things into your world that make you happy and are good for you!

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, has often credited her iron will and resolve to manifest the success she wanted as the only way she knew how to get what she wanted. Even though she was surrounded by haters, she stuck to her guns and affirmed her current reality with her favourite method if manifestation. In an interview with Anderson Cooper, she spoke at length about repeating to herself that she is famous even when she wasn’t. She said, “You repeat it to yourself every day… And it’s not yet, it’s a lie. You’re saying a lie over and over again, and then, one day the lie is true.”
Alia Bhatt
Plenty has already been written and picked up from the many episodes of Koffee With Karan to bring to life Alia’s relentless desire to be married to Ranbir Kapoor. Lo and behold, 2022 became the year that Alia not only married the love of her life but is starting a family. Master manifestor, she also wanted to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali since she was 11 and auditioned for Rani Mukherji’s role as a young girl in the movie Black. In an episode of Simi Selects India’s Most Desirable, Anushka Sharma spoke of how she was reading The Secret when auditioning for the film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Adding more power to her desires was her mother who always wanted Anushka to become an actress. In the interview with Simi, she spoke of how her mother wrote she wanted her daughter to star in a Yashraj film, and kept the note in a turtle in her room. When Anushka called her mother to tell her she was picked up for the role by the banner, her mother showed her the hand written note!

A huge advocate of believing that you can manifest whatever you want with the help of vision boards and a great degree of belief in yourself, Oprah has been THE definition of manifesting your dreams. In an interview with Larry King Live, she said, “The way you think creates reality for yourself.” She manifested her role in The Color Purple as she repeatedly visualised herself as an actress in the role, directed by Steven Spielberg.
Virat Kohli
In a segment of In Depth With Graham Bensigner, Virat spoke extensively about the power of visualisation. He said, “Visualisation is everything for me. If I’m going to play an overseas tour, for 2 or 3 months before the tour, I imagine smashing the bowler all over the field. I feel those emotions in my heart and feel that it’s going to happen. It’s so convincing in your mind that when you are in that situation, your body just takes over because it’s already registered in your mind.”
