Malayalam actor Vinayakan, known for his role as the antagonist in Rajinikanth’s Jailer, was detained by Hyderabad police on Saturday following an altercation with airport officials while intoxicated. The incident occurred at Hyderabad Airport when Vinayakan, en route to Goa from Kochi, reportedly got into a heated argument with IndiGo Airlines staff. When officials tried to intervene, the actor escalated the situation, removing his shirt and sitting on the airport floor, shouting and hurling abuses.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detained Vinayakan before handing him over to the local police. Several videos of the incident have gone viral, showing the actor speaking incoherently while being escorted by officials.
Following his detention, Vinayakan was taken into custody after an official complaint was filed by the CISF. Authorities have stated that the actor will be released after thorough questioning.
This isn’t the first time Vinayakan has made headlines for such behavior. In October 2023, he was arrested in Kerala for creating a disturbance at the Ernakulam police station while intoxicated. During that incident, Vinayakan had called the police himself over a family dispute but later misbehaved with the officers and used abusive language.
Despite his controversial behavior, Vinayakan continues to draw attention, both for his acting roles and his off-screen incidents.
