Love at First Sight! Ranveer Singh Talks About the Moment He Fell in Love With Deepika Padukone

Bollywood has set our bar for romance extremely high. Wouldn’t you agree? It’s improbable that violin music started playing when you first laid eyes on your partner or it started raining moments before your first kiss. We’ve grown up believing that’s what happens. In reality though, not everyone is that lucky. However, this story is about two people who wouldn’t agree- Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. They got their Bollywood fairy tale and it’s left us all gushing and blushing!

Ranveer Singh’s eagerly anticipated episode of Man v/s Wild dropped on Netflix on 8th July. Early in the episode, Ranveer reveals his motivation behind embarking on this daunting adventure- to find the rare Serbica Ramonda flower for Deepika. He ventured into the Serbian wilderness with British adventurer Bear Grylls and had to cross steep ravines, freezing rivers and batt predators like snakes, wolves and bears to fetch this extremely special flower that never dies. We all need a partner who would go to the ends of the earth for us!

Netflix uploaded a small snippet of this episode as an Instagram reel. In it, Ranveer talks about how he fell in love with Deepika the minute he laid eyes on her. According to him, when she walked through the doors time slowed down and it was love at first sight! Didn’t we tell you it was all very Bollywood-ish? But we can’t expect anything from this power couple, can we?

Ranveer said, “I met her in 2012. In our first reading and I’ll never forget, the doorbell rang, and I looked like that, and these big, wooden doors opened, and she was wearing all-white and the breeze blew just at that time. It was almost like time had slowed down. In slow motion, she walks through the door, hair all flying with the breeze, looking like an absolute vision in white. Man, that was it! At that moment it was ‘it’ for me. It was love at most spectacular sight.”

Eventually, after a long and strenuous journey, Ranveer climbed a hill and was able to fetch the exquisite flower for Deepika. This is a love story for the ages!
