Bambai Meri Jaan is now streaming on Prime Video
“Bambai Meri Jaan,” Prime Video’s latest gangster series, achieved the remarkable feat of being the first Indian OTT series to premiere internationally, ahead of its global streaming release. Lead actors Avinash Tiwary and Kritika Kamra, along with series creators Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudagar, as well as producers Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Kassim Jagmagia, were all in attendance at the London premiere on September 12.
Kritika Kamra, who portrays the character Habiba in the series, shared her thoughts on the international premiere, stating, “I am thrilled to be a part of ‘Bambai Meri Jaan,’ a show that pushes the boundaries of storytelling in Indian content. The international premiere in London is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. I can’t wait for audiences worldwide to embark on this thrilling journey.”
Kamra’s role as Habiba, the sister of gangster Dara Kadri (played by Tiwary) and the daughter of an honest police officer Ismail Kadri (Kay Kay Menon), provided her with a unique and transformative experience. Reflecting on her character and the opportunity it presented, Kamra added, “Stepping into the shoes of a gangster in post-independence Bombay has been a transformative experience. This character is unlike any I’ve played before, and it has allowed me to explore new dimensions of my craft.”
In addition to Kritika Kamra and Avinash Tiwary, the cast of “Bambai Meri Jaan” includes Nivedita Bhattacharya and Amyra Dastur. The series, based on an original story by S. Hussain Zaidi and directed by Saudagar, is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
