The eighth season of Karan Johar’s talk show, “Koffee With Karan,” opened with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone as its inaugural guests. In a rapid-fire round, Johar discussed the possibility of remaking the 1964 classic romantic drama “Sangam,” which originally starred Raj Kapoor, Vyjayantimala, and Rajendra Kumar. The proposed new cast includes Singh, Padukone, and Ranbir Kapoor. To everyone’s surprise, both guests expressed their willingness to be part of this project. Now, we eagerly await Kapoor’s confirmation.
“Sangam” centers around the complex dynamics of love among three best friends: Radha, Gopal, and Sundar. As love complicates their relationship, it tests their loyalty, friendship, and marriages. The iconic love triangle was directed by Raj Kapoor, who also portrayed Flight Lt. Sundar Khanna, with Rajendra Kumar as Magistrate Gopal Verma and Vyjayanthimala as Radha Mehra.
