After delivering cinematic blockbusters like Sivaji: The Boss, Nayak: The Real Hero, Aparichit, and Indian, expectations were sky-high for S. Shankar’s Game Changer. However, despite featuring big names like Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, the film turned out to be a massive box office disaster.
Made on a staggering budget of ₹450 crores, the film struggled to cross ₹180 crores domestically and barely scraped ₹30 crores from overseas markets. Despite its star-studded cast, Game Changer failed to strike a chord with audiences, becoming one of the biggest disappointments in recent times.
And, of course, no flop film escapes the wrath of internet trolls. Released in theaters on January 10th, the movie was relentlessly mocked for its screenplay, editing, and overall execution. Now, with its Prime Video India release scheduled for February 7th, trolls are gearing up for round two.
Shankar previously revealed that he was forced to trim five hours of footage, reducing the film’s runtime to 2.5 hours. He even claimed that many of the best scenes had to be sacrificed, leading to a disjointed final cut. However, instead of sympathy, fans are now demanding the release of this missing footage—not out of genuine interest, but simply for more trolling material.
Many have even started calling for a director’s cut or a sequel, just to see whether these extra scenes could have possibly salvaged the film. Whether Shankar gives in to the demand or not, one thing is certain—Game Changer will continue to be a hot topic, for all the wrong reasons.
