There’s a lot that one can decipher from a bag about its wearer. Deepika Padukone’s trusty Louis Vuitton Dauphine reveals facets of the star’s personality that are unknown to the public forum. For instance, her practical set of miscellaneous gizmos that help her attend Zoom calls while hopping countries for new projects is a rare but nevertheless– interesting detail about the contents of the starlet’s designer hand bag. When it comes to the jet set crowd, the scope of essentials can range from anywhere between carryall to compact capacity depending on the needs of the person and their lifestyle. While bags may seem like just an accessory– the side accompaniment to the main serve, the right bag to suit your needs is nothing less of an investment. After all, it will stay by your side through all your escapades and daily adventures. The style requirements of the age, plus the practical aspects of having a designer hand bag leave much to mull over and consider when buying your own. Vogue speaks to the current It-girls of the fashion scene about their bags and its contents– who reveal the expected and the unexpected.

How would you describe your relationship with your bag in three words?
My whole world. I’m a total bag person.
What is something people would not expect to find in your bag?
Allergy medicines! Absolutely anything can set my allergies off at any time so I always have an Allegra handy!

Oh I’m a super heavy packer. You never know what you’ll need when. Or what someone else might!
If the contents of your bag are a reflection of your life, what does it say about you?
It says that I’m always prepared. Over prepared rather!
What characteristics in terms of style or utility do you like most about your everyday bag?
Storage! Storage! Storage! The more pockets and zips, the better for me to organise my items.

I don’t really have a wishlist or need to have bags. I buy something if I like it not because it’s the new best thing to have so no bag in particular.

What was the first ever bag you bought?

There’s so many things in my bag from days and days, things that I don’t even expect to find there, whether it’s a packet of tissues or notes I have collected from somewhere. I’m a very sentimental person so I keep ticket stamps from movies that I like.
When it comes to carrying items in your bag, are you an only-essentials person, or a heavy packer?
I’m guilty of being a very heavy packer, for a two-night trip I would take suitcases for two months. But my backpack or handbag usually has everything that keeps me feeling secure.

I suppose if the contents of my bag are a reflection of my life then there’s complete chaos.

One travel item that is a must to carry along in flights?
A travel item that you must carry on flights are earpods or headphones which I always forget or I forget to charge but they are a lifesaver, especially if you have a long flight, because you need to download something to watch. Then you must have headphones to be a polite traveller.
