And no, we aren’t insinuating you spend half your salary on products that may or may not work. Just the opposite.

Aloe Vera gel+Coconut Oil+Lemon

If you have dry hair that is unmanageable thanks to the monsoons, this mask should be in your Sunday Spa routine. Use coconut oil which hydrates and locks in the moisture, Aloe Vera that strengthens your hair, and lemon juice that nourishes it with some much-needed Vitamin C.

It is truly stupid-proof to make and we bet you all the ingredients are in your kitchen cabinet. Depending on your hair length, mix all the ingredients in a bowl until you have a somewhat watery consistency. Let it sit for about 30 minutes before washing it out with your usual shampooing routine. 

Yogurt+Honey

Absolutely delish to have when you are craving sugar, this combination is fantastic for your hair as well. The science behind it—according to Healthline, Yoghurt soothes and cleanses the scalp, clears away all dead skin cells, and promotes growth. It also tames frizz and adds a silk-like sheen.

Add a few tablespoons of yoghurt (quantity depends on the length of your hair. Make sure to take enough to cover each strand) to a bowl and mix it in with some honey for optimal results. Honey repairs hair damage, tames frizz, and softens the hair. Let this hair mask sit in your hair for 30-40 minutes before washing it out with your usual shampoo and conditioner. 

Banana+Egg+Coconut Oil+Honey+Mayonaise+Lime Juice

Okay, this one probably has you intrigued. It looks like the recipe for a bad banana pancake, doesn’t it? But your hair will love you for supplying it with this deep conditioning mask. According to Healthline, bananas are rich in silica which helps our bodies produce collagen (a protein that is responsible for bouncier, thicker hair).

Mix bananas with all these other ingredients (yes, even mayo) that help to strengthen, moisturize, and repair hair and you’ll be able to watch all your frizz walking away, defeated. Use this mask to deep condition at least once a week. Add all the ingredients to a blender and mix. Leave it in for 20-30 mins and wash it all off.

Pro tip: Ensure all the banana is pureed properly. If not, it can get super messy. 

Avacado+Honey+Agran Oil+Coconut Milk

This mask is packed with hydrating goodness. The main ingredient, Avocado, is rich in fatty acids and biotin. Two things your hair will thank you for. It will strengthen your hair cuticles and lock the moisture in. Whip the avocado and add in honey, Argan Oil (you can also use coconut oil or olive oil) and coconut milk which is rich in protein, numerous vitamins and lauric acid (known to penetrate the hair and strengthen and soften cuticles). 

Olive Oil+Banana

One of the simplest masks on this list. A mixture of olive oil and bananas is like an elixir for your dry and frizz-prone hair. It is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and antioxidants. These three are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the nutrients present in this seemingly basic mask. It softens your hair, adds shine, repairs damage, and most importantly, traps all the moisture in.

All you have to do is whip up a ripe banana in a blender and add a few teaspoons of olive oil. Apply it and leave it in for 30-40 minutes. Use this mask once a week for hair that looks good and feels great!
