We’ve all been there—send, delete, and send again. All those unintended WhatsApp messages that have gone as major faux pas, typos, emojis, or heated back-and-forth with your friend, partner, boss, relative, client, and the list goes on. While the good people at WhatsApp gave us the power to delete sent messages, as a receiver you can end up frustrated not knowing what was coming your way.
Alas, you stare and wrack your brain waiting longingly for a stream of conscious thought you can piece together from the sender. Good news for all the anxiety ridden receivers—you can now retrieve all those deleted WhatsApp messages.
Thanks to WAMR, a mobile app, you can now recover text messages and also any attachments (pictures, videos, voice notes, audio, animated gifs and stickers) in a heartbeat. Whether you are on your PC or an android or iOS user, this app is for everyone.

Here’s what you need to do to get to the bottom of that deleted text message:
- Download the WAMR app on your Android, iOS, or PC.
- Open your WhatsApp and look for the chat history you want to see. Click on the deleted message to view the actual text, video, GIF file or any other media file.
- Want to download the WhatsApp status? Go on the menu bar, and press ‘save’ option. Tao on the button to save.
Word to the wise: According to International Institute of Cyber Security (IICS) you should be aware of the security risk for the user as the app usually asks for extensive permissions which may compromise your data, files that are stored in your phone’s memory, search history, and even the users’ contact list.
At the time of writing this, the WAMR app has had 5Cr+ downloads and has not been flagged by the Play Store!
