Calling our fellow bookworms! Put down your Kindle, audiobooks and hard copies because we have some very exciting news. USA’s former first lady Michelle Obama has announced the release of her next book titled The Light We Carry. This will serve as the official follow-up to her 2018 bestselling book, Becoming (which sold 17 million copies worldwide and even won a Grammy award for its audio version).
The Light We Carry is a 336-page book through which Michelle shares a series of stories and insightful reflections on change, challenge and power. According to Variety, the book’s intro reads, “I’ve learned it’s okay to recognize that self-worth comes wrapped in vulnerability, and that what we share as humans on this earth is the impulse to strive for better, always and no matter what. We become bolder in brightness.” She added, “If you know your light, you know yourself. You know your own story in an honest way… One engaged community can ignite those around it. This is the power of the light we carry.”

Can’t wait to get your hands on a copy? Fortunately, the former first lady did not leave us in a pool of speculation. She took to social post a short clip to announce that her new book will hit stands and be available as a digital medium on November 15th. The caption of the post reads, “Like so many of you, I’ve spent a lot of time these past few years thinking about how to keep myself centered in a world filled with so much uncertainty. That process of reflection actually led me to start writing again—and today, I could not be more thrilled to tell you about my new book, The Light We Carry, which comes out on November 15.”
