Bambai Meri Jaan Directed by Shujaat Saudagar, Web series on Prime Video from September 14
Bambai Meri Jaan Director Shujaat Saudagar, co-creator of the upcoming period crime-drama streaming series “Bambai Meri Jaan,” expressed that choosing Kay Kay Menon for the role of the cop, Ismail Kadri, in the series was a perfect decision and required no second thought.
“Bambai Meri Jaan,” which also features Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur, unfolds the life and ascent of Dara Kadri, a narrative seen through the perspective of Ismail Kadri, an upright policeman caught between his duty and family obligations.
Discussing Menon’s casting, Saudagar remarked, “Selecting Kay Kay was a clear-cut decision. I had sent him the script. I’ve been attempting to collaborate with him for nearly two decades, and previous attempts never materialized. If there’s anyone who could portray Ismail Kadri’s character flawlessly, it was this exceptional actor.”
“I required someone who could instantly convey the character’s background and life story with just one look, and I’m astounded by how effortlessly Kay Kay accomplished this,” he added.
Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment, with Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia, and Farhan Akhtar at the helm, “Bambai Meri Jaan” is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 14.
