Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on Sunday, September 8. This marks a dream come true for Ranveer, who had previously expressed his desire to have a daughter as adorable as his wife, Deepika.
During an episode of his quiz show, The Big Picture, Ranveer had spoken fondly about the idea of having a daughter, saying, “Aapki bhabhi (Deepika) itni cute baby thi na… I see her baby photos every day and just pray that I have a little one just like her. Bas phir meri life set ho jaaye.”
The Bajirao Mastani actor also shared that he had prepared a list of baby names for both boys and girls. However, he kept the list a secret, joking that he didn’t want others to ‘steal’ the names for their own children.
Earlier this year, in February, Deepika and Ranveer announced that they were expecting their first child. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018 after seven years of dating, have now embraced parenthood six years into their marriage.
On Saturday, Deepika was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, with Ranveer and both their families by her side. Ranveer, who shares a close bond with the Ambani family, missed their Ganpati celebrations that evening, though Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone and Ranveer’s father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani attended the event. The paparazzi were quick to congratulate them as they arrived.
Before the baby’s arrival, Deepika visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple on Friday, accompanied by Ranveer and their family, to seek blessings ahead of this joyous moment.
